It’s National Margarita Day - grab some tequila and stay a while!

Happy National Margarita Day!

Margaritas are the catalyst for my romance with the love of my life so needless to say, this cocktail has a special place in my heart.

Following is the recipe that has precipitated many great memories:

3 parts tequila

El Jimador is our go to - it’s top shelf 

smooth with a mid level price.

2 parts orange liqueur

Cointreau s'il vous plaît!  It’s on the pricier side but it gives your marg the French kiss it never knew it needed.

Triple sec also works great if you’re feeling more Jean Valjean than Marie Antoinette.

1 part lime

Fresh squeezed limes are a must! Trust me - it’s worth the work!

Now get to shakin’!

I prefer my rim naked but my boo is like most and wants it salty.

Pour a little water on a small plate and generous helping of salt on another. Turn the glass upside down, twist around and repeat with the salt.

Add ice to your glass.

Add the margarita mixture.
