Wichita Keepers, Mulvane, Haysville & the Wild Unknown: Through the Lens of the Unexpected

Hello again, my Snapshot Sorcerers!

Before we really get started, delight in an addition to my "Pour Decisions" project.

Today I strongly insisted The Mister, Scrapheap Savant, take me out for a photography excursion. It's not his favorite thing (although I don't understand this). He's like - dramatic sigh - "where do you want to go?" and I responded, "I have no idea" and then I started thinking about how Wichita has all these things that are designed (I guess?) to beautify and attract interest - and I decided on the Keepers on Parade. There are something like 73 of these things. I know, I know, it's been done before. But not by me!

It's not a single day's escapade, I suppose. We set out to get 8 of them. We got 5 - couldn't find two, and one was way too busy to stop. We found the business they were/are placed, but couldn't find the Keepers on site. They'll be snapped at a later date; I don't know the meaning of the word surrender. We located the Keepers at Planet Fitness (one of them), Wichita South, Wichita West, Friends University, and Berry Materials.

But I wasn't satisfied, and needed a greater Focus Fix, so we took a scenic spin and wound up cruising through Haysville and were like heyyyyy, it's Vickers Petroleum Service Station. I've been wanting to photograph this historical landmark for a while now.

I still hadn't had enough Photo Therapy, and so onward we went to Mulvane. Would you believe I've only ever been through Mulvane, and never to Mulvane? It's true.

As you will likely notice, I have a penchant for Solitary Seating, as seen by my photos of empty chairs, benches, and other sitting apparatus. Something about the loneliness, or isolation, of the empty chair strikes a chord with me.

Was I done? Had I fed my fix? Nope. Well, I mean yes, but only because by the time we left Mulvane it was getting a bit too dark.

Here are the randoms from the places in between.

And from this adventure, I have a list of missed photo opportunities to return to later.

Until next time, my Click Clique, stay safe and warm!

You forgot to add that I had a camera and took some pictures too. I had a good time and would be happy to accompany you/squire you around on your next photo jaunt.

The "dramatic sigh" is just my default response.
