Not Every Photo is a Keeper — But All Are Worth Taking

Hello again, Photo Fiends!

I love nothing more than wandering aimlessly taking photos. After all, it's a click that calms the mind. Sometimes, you have to settle for lackluster subjects, but even then, you never regret taking them.

Let me begin by sharing my favorite photo of the week:

Golf, anyone?
Golf, anyone?

As I stated, "lackluster subjects". That may be what you see, that may be what most people see. What I see is a golf ball in a place where a golf ball has no business being - in the parking lot of an abandoned restaurant. Alone, and lonely. No golf greens nearby. Why is it here? It's up to us to ponder.

This week I found a couple more Keepers (Credit Union of America, Envision):

A few more Spaces that Wait:

Perhaps a couple Pour Decisions:

And a few Roulette photos:

Admittedly not the kind of photos that make you sit back and say "wow!" but sometimes, that's not the point, is it?

As I mentioned before, I am fully aware that the Keepers on Parade in Wichita have likely been photographed a million times (but not by me!), but by challenging myself to get them all, I am also getting tons of pictures that aren't Keepers, too.

So, grab your camera. Get out there. Take some photos (yes, even if you hate them later!) Beautiful subjects and rarely seen treasures are obviously quite wonderful to photograph, and believe me, I jump at those opportunities. But, sometimes, the point is to just... go.

I was just walking, talking, and shooting (cameras, silly!) with Immature Fauxtographer this afternoon and while we had high hopes, I believe we were both a little disappointed with the subject matter (BORE-ing!) and that, Fellow Shutter Ninjas, is incredibly frustrating.

Out of 70 photos, I share 9 with you:

I can think of much worse ways to spend my afternoon!

Time will pass anyway,

So smile,

Come check out all our photos,

And never stop doing what you truly love.

Until next time, Shutter Sorcerers, be safe and click-happy!
