Steel and Spray Paint: Capturing the Grit and Glory of Trains and Graffiti

Updated: May 3

Hello my Photography Fiends!

I have taken to carrying my camera even more than usual, which normally, is a lot. In doing so, I can't honestly say I've been taking more photos than usual, because it seems that most of the places I go, either aren't photo-worthy or photo-free zones (think medical offices).

It never fails, I see an opportunity just screaming for a snap, and alas, no camera. Occasionally though, it works out.

Today, I hit a detour and on either side of me were trains. I like trains. Moreso, I like graffiti on trains. Seriously. Some of the absolute best artwork is done on trains. I often find myself gravitating to the industrial appearance.

This photo was kind of an accident. I love it, though.

The following three, my vision was definitely not realized. They're all very similar and I can't choose between them on which to post, so I'm posting them all.

(As I've said before, not all photos are going to be gems.)

These are... I don't know. But I'm strangely fond of them.

Let me know what you think!

What are your favorite things to photograph?

Until next time, Photography Mavens, stay safe, get out there, and do more of what you love!

I figured this would be a great subject for you and the site. Some of the artwork on the trains are very nice, varied and occasionally profane.
